Lord Krishna in the 21st Century

Chapter 30 - KDR Command Post

The long range goal of our mission is the development and eventual deployment of a comprehensive Krishna Disaster Relief response team.
One area affected by disasters is man's ability to communicate. In 2024 when I was in North Caroline when Hurricane Helene struck, both the Internet and our cellphone stopped working for 8 days. One house nearby had a StarLink system and a back up generator to power it with, so they were the only ones who had internet service. (Note: They're biggest problem is that they failed to have enough back-up gasoline on hand and could only run their generator periodically, roads were impassable and gas stations not open.) Verizon, AT&T stopped working for over a week and our internet modem inside the house also stopped working. So what I have in mind is a Mobile Communications Center/ Command Post that we could deploy along with everything else."
Bringing this Mobile Command Center onto the "disaster stage" would have profound implications. Not only would this give our entire team the means to stay in touch with each, we could also provide real-time reports back to Krishna Disaster Relief's headquarters, hopefully in Potomac, Maryland. There are many ways that this information could be used.
By having this Mobile Communications Center deployed, Krishna Disaster Relief would become a very important "player" among all the other disaster-relief agencies taking part in the rescue efforts. A disaster means an dire emergency and having the ability to provide emergency communications during a disaster is something that we should provide right along with the rest of our response.
Here, again, is another highly interesting service. Similar to our search and rescue teams, here is a branch of Krishna Disaster Relief that would have its own equipment and training. I'm just barely touching the surface here. Unfortunately, I am not personally up to speed on everything that modern technology would allow us to do. For example, it wouldn't surprise me if we could even provide networks such as Fox News with live videos of unfolding events.
Our Mobile Communications Center/Command Post would become one of the important aspects of Krishna Disaster Relief when we deployed our vegetarian mobile kitchen; not only providing emergency communication abilities for our own people, but providing assistance to other groups, as well. For instance, the American Red Cross might ask us to relay messages for them.
